Georgetown
The city of Georgetown was founded in 1826 by Quakers from Tennessee, and had a population of 3,474 as of the 2000 census. Georgetown is a small city located between Danville and Paris. Georgetown is home to the annual Georgetown Fair, which has a pageant and demolition derby among other activities.
Georgetown is located approximately 130 miles south of Chicago, 35 miles east of Champaign-Urbana (home to the University of Illinois), and 90 miles west of Indianapolis, Indiana. Illinois Route 1 provides access to Danville to the north. Georgetown has a grade school, middle school, and high school.
