Potomac

The village now known as Potomac was founded in 1840, and had a population of 681 as of the 2000 census. Potomac is a bedroom community to Danville.

Potomac is located approximately 120 miles south of Chicago, 30 miles east of Champaign-Urbana (home to the University of Illinois), and 90 miles west of Indianapolis, Indiana. US Route 136 runs through the center of town. Potomac is part of the Armstrong-Potomac school district.
