Alvin

The village of Alvin was founded in 1872 at the intersection of the Chicago & Eastern Illinois and the Havana, Rantoul and Eastern railroads. It had a population of 316 as of the 2000 census. Alvin is a bedroom community to Danville.

Alvin is located approximately 120 miles south of Chicago, 35 miles east of Champaign-Urbana (home to the University of Illinois), and 90 miles west of Indianapolis, Indiana.
